I feel sorry for John McCain

He is going to be eaten alive after he loses the general election. All the signs are there: too many party officials alienate themselves from the candidate; too few offer genuine help. The Republican party doesn’t seem to believe in victory. Everyone seems to have acquiesced to the inevitable; Bush has done too much damage, and McCain is now positioned to suffer the defeat — for everybody.
It remains to determine whether he will be portrayed as the scape goat or the sacrificial lamb. Either option is viable: the man could be described as the perpetual loser who compromised true Republican conservative values to pander to wider electoral base on the one hand, and as a warrior, a hero who fought his last battle with honor on the other. It is possible that the former narrative would circulate in inner party quarters while the latter would be presented to the public. Both would be savored by the Democrats and only Obama’s graciousness would save the day for his ex-rival.
The Obama-Clinton reunion may serve as an example of party unity and organization the GOP lacks, but so desperately needs. Two bitter rivals who nearly ruptured the Democratic party less than a few months ago are now engaged in an almost too true to believe political romance. They have a common goal they believe in and, more importantly, they appear to believe in each other. The Democrats present a united front — a stand usually thought to be the exclusive prerogative of Republicans.
McCain and Bush are the antithesis: they have to keep distance if the former is to stand any chance at being elected, yet without Bush’s leverage of a running president the task of winning would be very difficult. Ultimately they engage in a pull and push relationship which reflects current party unstable dynamics. The result of such dynamics is often a loss — and a cannibal feast.

A war veteran with first hand experience on the battle front losing election at a time the nation is knee deep in wars will be a great paradox. That too at the hands of a person who is a novice in matters of war, foreign policy, and even domestic policies and who heavily depends on a new-found personal charm.

Charisma helps good leaders garner support to accomplish what they aim at. It is also bad, when it becomes a tool helping undeserving ones reach powerful positions - Hitler is an example.
I don’t say Obama is an undeserving contender because he has charisma. But my skepticism is due to his being a far less experienced contender for a job that requires the highest abilities - to lead one of the largest countries of the world that also is the most influential of our times.

I think Obama’s victory would be a solid proof of his leading abilities.
Besides, as I mentioned in one of my other comments, I believe experience can be borrowed by hiring the right people. The presidency is not a one man operation.

You have Benjamin Betanyahu for a true example of what a leader is but, you’re drooling over the ’charisma’ in Obama the used car salesman for the US of A??
For your information, one man makes the decisions in the Oval office regardless of how many advisors one ”hires”.
I’ve got an idea, since Obama has so many personal ties to communism, terrorists and bigots why don’t we just send him over to you and you can teach him to sell camels in a large desert somewhere?? I’m sure we both agree he would be very successful at it and he would make many friends in and around your part of the world in no time at all....that’s the level of ability for the single attribute of ’charisma’.

The working class will know that if they make it to the investor class (who will now send their money overseas), Obama’s tax regime will take their money and give it to the people they really don’t want to step down to be like.

He used America like a private bank, and that makes angry even though I am no an American. McCain is a mediocre politician, he’s a default choice for the lack of something better, chosen to be the pansy who will take the hit. If he’s president, which he won’t be, he will continue Bush’s destructive policies (billions in national debt).

However, the world still has several locations ruled by anarchy and communism where your advice on their charismatic leaders such as Chavez, Castro, Amadinijad and Qaddafi would be much more...appropriate and aligned with your...servitude.

Forogt to mention in my post below.. Obama hates the working class and after he destroys the jobs, he has already decided he will tax those who strive to be better and learn and earn more.

Middle stays middle and struggles as they must find healthcare for employees and will go out of business.
Israel is inundated with terrorists because the US can no longer give Israel money and Obama meets with a triumphant leader of Plastine and Hezebollah and Iran’s leader so they can divide Israel equally between each country. Of course, the Israelis will need to stick around as ”well paid-ie. slave” workers, since these other people don’t like to work.

I could never admire the tyrants you mentioned: they are tyrants. That’s the difference between them and Obama, who is a democratic leader, but not only — he’s charismatic too!
Now I realize this is very difficult for some people to stomach. After all, democracy often means the reign of mediocrity.

IF Obama is elected and IF he were to survive longer than 2 weeks before some sniper takes him out (there’s a lot of wackos out there) he would crush this nation by doing the following:
Obama’s World Poverty Bill would be passed and take ALL of the US GDP earnings to give to Obama’s version of the UN. (There goes the US cash gift to Israel). Guns would be gathered up according to Obama;s plan and the US would go into massive civil war.
Obama would tax the investor class and no new small businesses would come into being (esp with the bank failures going on at the moment). America would stagnate and fall apart.
Obama would immediately tax the large corps which are balancing between the union demands and simply closing up and moving overseas or to Mexico. (The USA would be detroyed within a year).
Obama would force the reamining small businesses to pay unaffordable health care for employees and they too, would close up and go out of business even before finding health care, IF it were available.
Obama will over tax and over extend this nation so quickly and at the worst time that we will DIE. If you want the USA to die, then you surely want Obama to become president and vice versa.
Israel will fall apart and diappear if the USA falls, as the US pays Israel just enough to stay afloat with all of your military needs against the country’s that McCain defends you on and Obama supports.
This is not some game where we can push reset and this certainly is not a basketball game or charisma pagaent.
This is the cold hard reality that people run from.
The truth that art critiques hide behind in their work with their pathetic liberal friends who refuse to learn the real story.
This is real.
